SingleWindow Q&A has been re-launched
On www.lcviews.com we have
re-launched the SingleWindow Q&A. It is a free of charge opportunity to ask
questions to LC experts. Our aim is to do things differently compared to the LC
discussion forums that are currently available on the internet. We want to
provide solid expert answers covering different angles - and providing relevant
references. We want to provide answers that are "correct" I.e. in
line with the established practice ... But we will also "validate"
the case against what we consider good or bad banking practice.
There will be a limited
number of LC experts answering the submitted questions - which hopefully will
establish uniformity in the answers given.
This form has its
limitations of course. First of all experts are people that has a deep knowledge
about a limited area. I.e. answers will only be given within that area.
Secondly there is a limit to the number of questions we can answer ... And how
fast an answer can be given. Therefore please be patient ... But also please
consider carefully before submitting a question - and last but not least make
sure that the question is worded in a clear and precise manner!
On the website we have
introduced a list of terms and conditions as well as some good suggestions on
how to make the perfect submission ... We hope this provides good guidance
... And good questions ... And in such
case we will do our very best to provide really good and helpful answers.
Already now 6 new answers
are available. The following topics have been raised:
- Shipping company
certificate issuer
- Non-bank issuer of LCs and
guarantees
- Acceptance or rejection of
an amendment by a confirming bank
- Tolerance
- Sanctions
- Definition of issuing bank
